What is “Dark Coquette” ?
Dark Coquette is a style that blends elements of both cute and edgy fashion. It typically incorporates lace, ruffles, bows, and traditionally “coquettish” or feminine elements, but with a dark, gothic twist.
Outfits might include darker colors like black or deep reds, paired with accessories such as chokers, corsets, and stockings. The look creates a contrast between soft, delicate pieces and a bold, sometimes rebellious aesthetic. It’s a playful mix of innocence and mystery.
⚠️⚠️ Dark Coquette isn’t limited to black and white. Just like coquette isn’t limited to white and pink ! For Dark Coquette, you can include deep dark colors other than plain black. The key word is “dark“. And the most important thing is the overall aesthetic and vibe you convey with your outfit.

Dark Coquette Items in DTI
A lot of items can suit the Dark Coquette theme in Dress to Impress. Because dark coquette is a darker version of the “coquette” look, basically anything you see that would fit the coquette look will fit the dark coquette look as well.
Remember : play around with layers and colors to make the perfect outfit !
Non VIP Items
Madoka set (being reworked) – currency item : this set works well for dark coquette, especially the top and the shoes.
Headbands : the headbands (the base game ones or the currency one) will work well on (dark) coquette looks as well
Any dress and skirt with ruffles and bows will work. These are particularly good :
but you don’t need the clothes to be extravagant in terms of ruffles and bows to make a good (dark) coquette outfit.
The sleeves toggle of the strawberry dress are a must-have for a nice dark coquette look as well!

Simple Dark Coquette (NON-VIP)
This look doesn’t use any VIP items. It uses some currency items, which you can get by collecting money in-game! I used some custom makeup for the face, but you can skip it and choose the face of your choosing in the non custom makeup, it will work just fine.
We start off with a very simple dark coquette style (and the simple dark croquettes are my favorites!). I know some people like complex dark croquettes, but I feel like it quickly tend not to be so “coquette” anymore. Anyway, the first look :

Pinterest Inspired Dark Coquette (NON-VIP)
This second look can also be made without VIP. It uses custom makeup but you can use any face you want. For this one, I used one of the pictures above (Dark Coquette inspiration) and recreated the outfit. I couldn’t make the bow on the chest, but if you know how to do it, don’t hesitate to let me know!

Dark Dark Coquette
This look is a darker take on the dark coquette style, definitely less casual and suited for special occasions. I still really like it! Unlike the two looks introduced above, this look uses VIP item (the pirate-y dress) and does feature custom makeup, which is easy to skip if you prefer or don’t have custom makeup.
